There are a lot of tourist traps in Boston’s Back Bay.
The Corner Tavern is not one of them.
This place might be the last neighborhood Bar/Restaurant in the Back Bay.
It feels warm and inviting, with friendly and attentive staff who are happy to suggest a local beer or the fastest way to Fenway Park. The brick walls are decorated with pulp fiction posters, and the well-worn Mahogany bar is a great place to settle in for a few pints and a snack or a meal. The menu is creative, and every dish comes out freshly prepared. Most visitors are pleasantly surprised that the offerings here are above and beyond typical “bar food”.
The crowd is a friendly mix of all types, local residents of all ages, plus a few students and staff from nearby Berklee College and MIT. Later in the evening there are always a large contingent of cooks, servers, and bartenders who just got out of work. The hospitality industry crowd are attracted to the friendly vibe and the fact that food and drinks are served up until 2:00 AM seven days a week.
